The Forest Gump scene was chosen as I thought that it was an iconic running scene that started an Epic run. I'm not sure I will match the 3 years, 2 months, 14 days, and 16 hours that Forest Gump ran for, but the road ahead is long for me and I have one hell of a distance to cover to complete my challenge.
Forest Gump Running Scene
Armed with my fancy dress costume I headed out to film the first of the running scenes. For my costume I didn't have a red cap on hand, but managed to find a black one with a bit of red writing on which was close enough considering the short notice, and I found a checked shirt that I thought was a close enough match.
Being a bit self conscious I stuffed my costume into a backpack and made my way down to the filming location. To my horror there were what felt like hoards of hikers out for their new years walks and cycle rides. Thankfully these hoards cleared by the time I reached the set, and I was able to quickly change from my hiking clothes into the fancy dress costume where I would become Forest Gump for 10 minutes.
Oddly quiet given the crowds observed during the approach to my film scene I began my Forest Gump run. I managed a couple of attempts before I caught eye on group of hikers approaching so I quickly made my way back over to my own hiking clothes to get changed.
